Daniel Ortiz

Property Tax Consultant, CIO

Daniel joined Paladin Tax Consultants in 2018 as the Chief Information Officer and a practicing Property Tax Consultant. Daniel’s primary responsibilities include new business development, research and development, maintaining the firm’s databases, and servicing our clients’ property tax needs.

Having served 8 years in the U.S Army, Daniel is a proud combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). During his tenure in the military, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate Finance and Development from The University of Texas at San Antonio where he graduated with Business Honors in 2012.

Prior to joining Paladin, Daniel worked for Scott B. Retzloff & Associates – a property tax consulting firm in San Antonio, TX. There, he led the information technology department and became an expert on the data appraisal districts use to value real estate. Because of this, he was able to help secure millions of dollars in tax savings. He was also responsible for producing due diligence reports on major retail acquisitions and large-scale development projects as well as providing complex agricultural use rollback estimates.

Daniel enjoys spending time with his remarkable wife and three children, which often involves larger family get-togethers, traveling, and local adventures.
