Appraisal Districts value your property as of January 1st every year.

Initial Valuations Mailed

Taxpayers begin to receive their initial values and tax estimates. If uncontested, your end-of-year tax liability should be relatively close to the tax estimate on your notice of appraised value. Final tax rates, which are adopted later in the year, can increase or decrease this estimate

Business personal property renditions must be filed by April 1st  –  However, an automatic 30-day extension will be granted upon written request, and an additional 15-day extension may be granted by the Chief Appraiser after making a written request and showing good cause.
